Ash Dieback

Anyone with a tree on their land has a legal responsibility to ensure that risk posed by the tree is kept within appropriate limits, particularly if they are next to a busy road, public pathway or community grounds.

If you need help identifying ash trees, assessing their condition and taking action to manage the risks, RTS are here to help.

We can advise homeowners and land managers who have ash trees on their land on their options for managing affected ash trees, while at the same time minimising the ecological impact caused by the highly damaging tree disease, which is likely to infect up to 80% of UK ash trees.

Stump Removals.

After your trees have been removed/felled, it may be necessary to remove the stump or lower trunk left in the ground. We can of course remove any number of stumps during our tree felling visit, or we’d be happy to do this even as a stand-alone service for trees that you have already taken down or taken down by another contractor.

The removal of a stump may be required so that it doesn't grow back, or the ground requires to be used for leisure or building requirements.

Crown Thinning.

Crown thinning is a pruning technique primarily used on hardwood trees. It is the selective removal of stems and branches to increase light penetration and air movement throughout the crown of a tree.

The intent is to improve a tree’s structure, improving the opportunity to grow properly and form, while making life uncomfortable for tree pests.

Fallen Tree Removal.

Fallen trees can be a real hazard, particularly in difficult to access areas. It may be laying on / against a boundary wall or power lines might have been damaged. The tree or trees might be resting precariously on some unseen obstruction or be blocking a right of way.

Renfrewshire Tree Surgeons are highly experienced in dealing with such obstacles. Not only will they be able to cut the tree into manageable parts, they will also be able the clear the area safely.

Crown Lifting.

Crown Lifting is the skilled technique of increasing the clear space below the foliage of a tree. This is often required in urban areas where the space under a tree is used for access i.e. pedestrians or vehicles need to pass under a tree safely or the space is used for parking etc.

Crown Lifting involves the removal of the lower branches and the trimming of other remaining branch foliage to reduce their weight and allow them to lift up naturally. This can be done to achieve any required height clearance.

Tree Reduction.

Tree crown reduction is the process of removing branches and pruning back to a growth point further down the branch. We will only cut back the required branches, and of course remove the debris and clear the area.

This may need to be carried out to remove dead, diseased and damaged branches, improve the look or specific growth potential or simply to increase light and reduce the overall size of the tree.
